Karen Fahmy
Karen is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who understands that each family operates differently and respects the uniqueness of each child and the family unit. She is passionate about looking at new solutions and possibilities whilst making therapy fun and creative.
Karen joined Family Connections in January 2025. She graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and a special interest in paediatrics. Karen has always been passionate about helping, teaching and empowering others which is where her love for occupational therapy emerged.
Through collaboration with families and by supporting children’s participation at school, home and in the community, she works to empower them to achieve their goals.
Over the last 5 years Karen has worked with children and their families in various roles. She has a background in disability support work and has previously worked as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. During her placements, Karen has had experience in both hospital and clinic settings.
Karen is committed to lifelong learning and continuing to build on her skills so that she can continue to grow as a therapist and keep up to date with the latest evidence-based research to guide her approach.
Outside the clinic, Karen enjoys volunteering and teaching Sunday school at her church and coming up with creative ways to engage children whilst creating a safe, fun environment for learning.
